The new social media app Threads launched earlier this month, and users are still figuring it out (including me). Whether you love the fact that new apps are launching or hate it, you need to ask yourself how you can use Threads for your business.

 

 

From someone with 0 Threads experience, here are some tips and tricks that I’ve learned so far that seem to be working well on the app:

 

1. JOIN THE CONVERSATION

Be authentic and reply, give praise, or give useful insights to your followers/soon-to-be followers. Focus on those conversations, make connections, and build a community through Threads!

What I’ve learned is that doubling down on posts that prompt these conversations is a great way to make the most of the app.

2. GIVE VALUE

Share tips and tricks about your business, what you’ve learned in life, or even just topics that you’re interested in! People love bite-sized, easy-to-digest content – so give that to your Threads followers.

This type of content is easily shareable as well, and is more likely to be re-posted.

 

3. POST YOUR JOURNEY

Whether it’s to inspire others or using those posts to inspire yourself. 

Post that behind-the-scenes or exclusive content that people love! This could be showing your followers a glimpse of your daily operations, posting early-access sale codes, limited-time offers, or whatever else you can think of!

 

4. DON’T BE AFRAID TO EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR CONTENT

It’s still the early days of this new app, and I’m sure a lot of changes will be coming – but right now, there are no guidelines or “best” ways to work the app yet!

I’ve found that some brands copy their Twitter strategy to a tee, while others have started posting whatever they want.

You have a unique opportunity to experiment with the type of content that you post. And the fact that Threads already has over 100+ million users in the time it’s being launched, you’ll be able to see what strategies pay off faster.
